No turned to rain here after 2” suppose to be 45 tomorrow crazy weather. Maybe 50 Friday my bees have been all messed up this winter with these constant highs and lows hope my hives survive if varroa mites aren’t a big enough pain in the ass.

I tried bees for 2 years and the queen kept dying on me. It was really cool, but it seemed I was in a losing battle so I haven't done it for 2 years. Any secrets?

Snowing here right now north of Boston. 2-3 inches on the ground right now. Supposed to change to rain in a couple of hours and continue until tomorrow afternoon, but I don't trust the forecast. 27 degrees now. If the temp doesn't rise by about 6 degrees soon we're in for a bunch, which seems like a lot in the year with little snow.

Was your queen dying after installing new package or nuc or later in season no queen cells in hive?

I did a new package first year and both queens died mid July. Did nucs the next year and same thing happened.

With your queens dying in mid July your workers didn’t make any queen cells . I’ve had problems with nucs and swarming but wow shit that rough .
